**Mō te tūnga | About the role**:
In this Senior Communications Advisor position, you'll get the opportunity to lead, create, shape, and grow all matters relating to communications and social media. From creating a communication or a strategic plan to writing material and coming up with ideas for relevant topics, you'll be the comms expert. You'll be working with the Labour Leader, MPs and the wider Labour Leader's Office to implement clear and concise communications across all platforms. It's an exciting and dynamic role where no two days are the same, however there is an existing structure in place for regular communications across channels and you will help deliver these.

**Ngā haepapa | Responsibilities**:

- Play a leading role in the development and implementation of Labour's communications plan
- Identify and recommend opportunities to promote Labour values and policies to the public and other stakeholders across all platforms
- Create, identify, advise and recommend good communications opportunities for the Leader and Labour MPs
- Chart, assess and evaluate the performance of current communications
- Create and maintain a positive working environment and be a go-to for the Leader, LLO and MPs for communications expertise

As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be politically impartial in your role. An awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MP.

The pay band for the role starts at $90,000 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an 'events based' agreement, with your employment linked to your MP - in this case it is the Leader Rt Hon Chris Hipkins, MP. This role is based in the Parliamentary precinct in Wellington, for 40 hours per week,
