Tākina Events has a team of expert sales professionals, with two of the most iconic brands not only in Wellington, but also in New Zealand. There are endless conference, function, event & exhibition possibilities across Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa & Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Function and Sales Coordinator to join our dynamic team. If you have built-in initiative, consider work to be more than just a job and take initiative to go the extra mile - then we want to hear from you This is a permanent, full time position.
You will be a confident, energetic and motivated individual who easily builds relationships with clients (existing and new), and therefore establish yourself as a key and valuable contact. You will be excited about new prospects, securing contracts and work alongside dynamic sales colleagues driving and delivering exceptional revenue results.

**The role involves**:

- Understand client needs and formulate compelling proposals.
- Drive strong conversion ratio.
- Proactively target and develop potential function and sales opportunities
- Client retention through account management

- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Outstanding networking and negotiating skills
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport and long-lasting relationships with customers and stakeholders
- A positive attitude, with a passion for success
