**Fixed Term Full Time**

Dunedin City Council is looking to appoint a talented Waste Planning Advisor (WPA)
- Construction and Demolition to the Waste and Environmental Solutions Business Unit for a two year fixed term. We are looking for someone with a background in environmental management, policy, communications, business sector engagement. Either way you will be great with people and passionate about sustainability, the environment, and keeping Dunedin beautiful.

**Key Objectives**
- Waste Strategy - to develop and manage strategies and policies for C&D waste management and minimisation within the City.
- Lead the development of relationships, partnerships and initiatives with key C&D stakeholders.
- Support, and where appropriate co-ordinate, the establishment of zero waste focused practices by designers, developers, constructors, industry associations and the C&D industry.
- Proactively contribute to the implementation of the WMMP, strategies, operational plans, programmes, and projects with emphasis on C&D aspects of the WMMP.
- Take part in, and where appropriate lead the development of, research and reporting projects related to the WMMP, with emphasis on C&D focused research

**Ideally you will have**
- A Post-graduate diploma in a related field
- Previous experience with developing policy documents
- Previous experience in project planning and implementation
- Experience working with stakeholders i.e. businesses, industry sector groups, community groups, focus groups, and the public

In addition to the above, you will have good planning and organisational skills, the ability to communicate with customers, consultants, and contractors, and the ability to plan and deliver effectively in a complex and sometimes pressured environment.
