New Zealand New Zealand Police Full time

**Supervisor - National Tactical Intelligence, it starts with you**
- **National (location negotiable)**:

- **Permanent, Fulltime**

**About the role**

Tactical Intelligence has been a very successful component of Police’s recently established Tactical Response Model (TRM). Within the TRM, Tactical Intelligence has developed new tools, techniques and processes to identify and progress opportunities to contribute to staff safety.

As the Tactical Intelligence Supervisor, you will be part of the Tactical Intelligence Unit (TIU), which is, in turn, part of New Zealand Police’s National Intelligence Centre. This critical role enables our Mission - to prevent crime and harm through exceptional policing.

In this national role, you will work with the Manager: Tactical Intelligence to develop and deliver the strategic direction of Tactical Intelligence and TIU, as we move from a project space to a BAU space.

You will support, enable, and lead three Tactical Intelligence Regional Leads who are responsible for supporting and providing technical guidance to Tactical Intelligence analysts based in districts. Together, you and the Regional Leads will ensure that the analysts have everything they need to deliver on their role. You will also ensure that district intelligence leadership are supported in the Tactical Intelligence space as and when necessary.

This Supervisor’s role enables the prevention and effective resolution of the high-risk incidents Police deploy to. This is done by providing robust intelligence and sound assessments which directly impact on police decision-making. Our Tactical Intelligence support can lower the risk of harm to Police staff, victims, the community, and offenders themselves.

You will also lift our Tactical Intelligence capability nationally, support a range of work groups and frontline staff, help to ensure the safety of the TRM system and better ensure the safety of Police staff. Police staff respond and carry a high-level of risk to Police and the public. This means our intelligence must support, enable and accurately reflect the level of risk.

This position would suit an intelligence professional with leadership and operational experience. You will have the ability to lead, motivate and develop a high performing team. You will be innovative in your thinking, and your enthusiasm and interpersonal skills will be able to develop high trust and effective relationships with our people, our leaders, key stakeholders and partner agencies. You will be a strong team player who is excited to be part of a team which is highly motivated, passionate and united.
