**Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity**
Downer NZ holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. Downer provides operational and project delivery services to ensure that all facilitates are well managed and maintained. We are currently seeking a Subcontract Resource Lead to join our team at the Department of Corrections and MOJ in Auckland or Wellington.
**A bit about the role**
With subcontractor management being the greatest financial and delivery risk to Downer, the Role of the Subcontract Resource Lead is critical for ensuring high performance and financial value are driven through operational delivery processes, ensuring Downer is at the forefront of our internal, client and legislative requirements.
Some duties include but not limited to.
- Continuously identify and implement strategies to maximize savings and increase value for money for both Downer and our customers.
- Analyse financial and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction that contributes directly to EBIT targets.
- Seek to expand subcontractor base where appropriate to ensure a competitive procurement environment and best value is driven across all delivery aspects of the business.
- Facilitate the onboarding process to ensure Subcontract Partners are able to be utilised quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure the engagement and ongoing management of subcontractors is well supported and all records standards, specifications, and training are in place to ensure compliance to Downer and industry requirements.
- Support the National Operational & Programme Managers by providing guidance by ensuring that operational stakeholders have access to accurate and dependable support to implement and operate under mandated requirements.

- Track record of success in a similar role in relevant businesses or markets
- Demonstrated history of delivering consistent savings or sales results.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to quantify and communicate financial impacts.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Experience in Supplier Relationship and Performance Management techniques and measurement is essential.
- Well-organised with the ability to meet deadlines, plan, and prioritise.
- Able to work with a minimum level of supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems and experience in electronic financial reporting systems
