Mō te tūnga | About the role
Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections) Health Services lead the delivery of patient-focused primary health care services to tangata within corrections facilities across Aotearoa. Hōkai Rangi, our over-arching strategic direction, places the focus on health at the heart of our business. Building our frameworks from a Matauranga Māori basis is our focus to drive and support equity for Māori, which in turn will contribute to achieving our outcomes of reducing reoffending.
Two opportunities have just arisen to join our dynamic team at Te Piriti, the Special Treatment Unit based at Auckland Prison. As part of our dedicated team, you will be contributing to the Department's mission of fostering a safer society by reducing re-offending, specifically in the area of child sexual offences.
At Te Piriti, we run two essential psychological treatment programmes, aligning our efforts with the Department's goal. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in conducting clinical assessments, leading group treatments, offering supervision, guidance, and training to Corrections and allied agencies. Additionally, you will engage in meaningful consultations with the NZ Parole Board and the Courts, actively participating in various service initiatives.
What sets these roles apart is the diverse and challenging nature of the work we do. You will be involved in both lower and high-intensity treatment environments, operating within therapeutic contexts. Te Piriti has a specific focus on promoting a therapeutic environment within a tikanga Māori framework. Te Piriti is at the forefront of pioneering new projects, providing you with continuous clinical and professional variety. These roles also offer exciting leadership opportunities, allowing you to make a significant impact on the community and shape the future of our initiatives.
Join us at Te Piriti, where your expertise and dedication will make a real difference. Be a part of a team that is committed to creating positive change and fostering a safer environment for all.
**The benefits of working with us**:
