Tamaki, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

Join a large supportive team where you can positively influence lives and contribute to community safety.
- Experience ample career growth and professional development.
- Pursue your true passions with specialised opportunities tailored to your interests.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

Join a dynamic team of psychologists across the Auckland region, where you'll have the opportunity to make a profound impact. As a psychologist within the Auckland District, you'll play a pivotal role in engaging with diverse populations, facilitating positive changes in individuals' lives, and contributing to community safety.

In our psychologist offices throughout Auckland, you'll collaborate within Community Corrections and Prison staff, conducting individual psychology assessments and treatments within a supportive team environment. Whether stationed in central Auckland, Manukau, or Correctional Facilities, you'll engage daily with individuals at high risk of reoffending, utilising a range of interventions tailored to their unique needs. The work involves providing services to men or women in dedicated psychological services across prison and community settings.

Alternatively, you can explore opportunities within Special Treatment Units across Auckland (working with men or women), focusing on reducing reoffending rates in a therapeutic community. Here, you'll conduct clinical assessments, lead group treatments, provide supervision, and contribute to various service initiatives, all within a tikanga Māori framework. Depending on your preference, you can work with a diverse range of clients across the Auckland region.

Regardless of your chosen path, you'll benefit from a vibrant, supportive team culture, continuous professional development opportunities, and a competitive salary. These roles offer more than just employment—they offer a chance to be part of transformative change, shaping the future of rehabilitation services in correctional psychology in Auckland.

You possess a commitment to culturally responsive ways of working, demonstrating an understanding of Te Ao Māori/Tikanga Māori and a willingness to engage in bi-cultural practice.

As a collaborative team player, you excel in professional environments where teamwork and mutual support are valued. You are proactive in seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth, eager to contribute to the outcomes of initiatives like Hōkai Rangi, which focuses on achieving positive outcomes for Māori within the justice system.

Whether you're just starting your career or seeking to advance in a development-focused service, you hold a minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology (Clinical or Forensic Psychology) and are registered with the NZ Psychologist Board in the clinical/counselling and general scope of practice.

Your commitment to continuous growth and collaborative teamwork will flourish in our correctional environment. If you're ready to embark on a fulfilling career journey where your expertise can truly make a difference, seize the opportunity to join us in Auckland. Together, let's create positive change and build a safer community for all.
