**Job Description**:
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
This role offers a passionate educator with a strong academic background in exercise science with a great opportunity to develop and deliver innovative teaching and pastoral care for undergraduate and taught postgraduate students.

Other components of this role include: contributing to academic and pastoral care, especially for undergraduate students; development of course material; delivery of practical classes, demonstrations and workshops; undertake course coordination; marking and assessment; and participating in departmental service activities as required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

- A postgraduate degree in Exercise Sciences
- Relevant teaching qualification and/or related tertiary teaching experience
- Experience in undergraduate teaching in exercise sciences
- Demonstrated knowledge across the sub-disciplines of Exercise Sciences

This is a permanent, full-time 1 FTE (**40 hours per week**) role.

Remuneration: PTF1, $96,823

**Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team**
We are New Zealand’s leading academic programme in Exercise Sciences. Our teaching and research seeks to understand how physical activity changes the human body when it is growing, performing incredible physical feats, ageing or at risk of disease. The Department of Exercise Sciences brings together exercise physiology, biomechanics, movement neuroscience, and exercise and sport psychology to investigate the role of exercise and physical activity in sustaining health, improving disease outcomes, and enhancing human performance.

You will be committed to quality and effectiveness in teaching; with the ability to be proactive and take initiative. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills and have excellent judgement and decision-making skills.
