**Job Description**:
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
We are seeking a Tutor in the Department of Exercise Sciences to contribute to effective and inspiring teaching and learning experiences for students along with providing high-quality services to our Health and Rehabilitation Clinic clients.

Exercise Science at The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading academic programme within this field. Our teaching and research seeks to understand how physical activity changes the human body when it is growing, performing incredible physical feats, ageing or at risk of disease. The Department of Exercise Sciences brings together physiotherapy, exercise and sport psychology, movement neuroscience, biomechanics, exercise metabolism and exercise physiology to investigate the role of exercise and physical activity in sustaining health, improving disease outcomes and enhancing human performance.

The Health and Rehabilitation Clinic provides expert guidance to help prevent or manage chronic health conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer. Our purpose-built facility, which is located on the University of Auckland’s Newmarket Campus, offers state-of-the-art equipment. The position will suit someone wishing to join a small, passionate, and dedicated team who have a positive impact on the daily experiences of students and clients in the Health and Rehabilitation Clinic.

**Requirements of the role**:

- Teaching: Support teaching activities including demonstrating clinical practices and monitoring of students learning during client assessments, prescriptions, programme and clinic administration. This will involve being available for student consultation and marking course assignments.
- Administration and Service: Deliver client related operational activities effectively and provide educational seminars and workshops to client groups when required.

This is a Full Time, Fixed Term (maternity cover) from 19 June 2023 - 21 December 2023
Remuneration: Tutor 1 - $75,668 (40 hours per week)

**He kōrero mōu | About you**
You will have an MSc or higher qualification in Exercise Sciences, Clinical Exercise Physiology or a related area along with practitioner experience in a clinical setting. Along with this, you will have the ability to confidently present and liaise with students in order to motivate them towards achieving their student goals.
