Waikato Hospital Dietetic department has an exciting opportunity join our team in a **NEW permanent clinical role **as a New Zealand registered dietitian**. **The role will be predominately based on the inpatient acute wards, with a focus on our critical care patients in ICU and HDU. Where you would be providing dietetic interventions for acutely unwell patients admitted to Waikato Hospital.

The position would suit a dietitian with a minimum of 3 years inpatient clinical experience, ideally with experience in a critical care and is not suitable for new graduates.

It is an exciting opportunity for anyone who has a strong interest in critical care, to work in a major tertiary hospital in New Zealand. You will work in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary team to support patients when they are most unwell, so we are looking for someone who understands the value of compassionate and collaborative working. Occasional weekend on call is part of the role and can be discussed further at interview.

**Mōu | About you**

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

- New Zealand Dietitians Board registration and current annual practicing certificate (or in the process of obtaining), with Dietitians Prescriber status.
- A drive for professional development and service advancement.
- An ability to work autonomously completing comprehensive clinical assessments, for a complex caseload delivering high quality, evidence based care.
- A strong team focus, and excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- An understanding of bicultural issues and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.
- A desire to mentor and develop junior team members.
- A full clean New Zealand drivers license.
- Critical care experience would be beneficial but not essential.
