Allied Health is seeking an experienced leader for the position of Manager Social Work, within the Allied Health service at Te Whatu Ora Waikato. The position manages social workers who provide services to patients on inpatient wards and outpatient clinics at Waikato Hospital.

This role requires the applicant to provide proactive and efficient day to day operation of this service for the allied health division. The manager is key to the day to day success, covering everything from recruitment to preparing business cases, managing complex operational interaction between services and ensuring the day to day deployment of resources supports optimal patient care.

The Allied Health service includes dietitians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, speech language therapists, audiologists, newborn hearing screeners and allied health assistants located throughout the Waikato district. The staff work within a range of health service teams across the Waikato district including hospital and community settings.

**Mōu | About you**

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

- A passion for wellbeing and experience working in the health sector
- Strong leadership and management skills, ideally with management experience covering multiple clinical and service areas
- Robust skills in human resources, financial management, service quality risk and operational management
- Expertise in building relationships, especially with senior health professionals
- A post graduate qualification in management or a health discipline is strongly preferred
- A current New Zealand driver’s licence is required
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
