- To ensure the successful operational delivery of the ninth edition of this competition, we have set up a Local FIFA Subsidiary (LFS). Its aim is to improve the experience of over 1.1 billion people watching the FIFA Women's World Cup, by delivering innovative solutions across all operational areas.

**Job responsibilities**
- Under the guidance of the Competition Manager and working alongside the wider competition team and in cooperation with other tournament Functional Areas and external stakeholders, the Competition Operations Manager will support the successful operational planning and implementation of all aspects of the competition management project at the respective venue in New Zealand.
- The Competition Operations Manager will be part of a team within the Competitions sub-division and contribute to ensure that a high standard of Competition and Match Operations can be delivered by the Competition Management team at the tournament itself as well as any event related to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.**Job duties**

Your role as a Competition Operations Manager includes the following responsibilities:

- Competition Operations Manager is part of the main Competition Operations staff at the specific venue where they are appointed
- Act as counterpart to the FIFA Match Director
- Lead all competition operations matters during the match day
- Manage the Competition team at the Venue
- Attend inspection visits at Venue
- Attend venue meetings on behalf of Competition Management
- Update Site Operating Plans for the specific venue according to the FIFA requirements, in coordination with Competition Manager
- Develop procedures for competition related activity within specific venue
- Develop presentations relating to venue specific competition information
- Manage Competition Management accreditation requirements for specific venue
- Work closely with the Venue Management team, Stadium Authority, Operations, Logistics and Pitch Management, coordinating with them all infrastructural and equipment deliverables, as well as submission of requirements within given timelines
- Manage Venue Competitions Volunteers Training processes
- Oversee competition area (incl team bench assembly, dressing rooms and offices) set up, readiness and dismantling
- Prepare Competition Area for FTI/VAR Test Match
- Prepare match related competition equipment
- Prepare the competition venue team to be ready to assist client group within the competition area
- Deliver Stadium Familiarisation sessions
- Attend Match Coordination Meeting if required
- Check benches, goal posts and flags are placed and installed accordingly, and all line markings are accurate
- Complete Competition Management reporting as required
- Ensure thorough and timely communication from Competition Management in venue to Headquarters
- Manage stadium bump-out of the competition area including distribution of items according to any relevant legacy plans.
- Execute any other duties and responsibilities delegated by the HQ Competition Manager

- The specific competencies we require for this position are:
**Qualifications, experience and skills**
- Bachelor's degree in sports management or similar is preferred
- A minimum of 2 years sports event management experience required, ideally on an international level
- A minimum of 1 years' experience in Competition Management
- Proven track record in coordinating complex projects, including both pre-event planning and event time implementation, ideally with football
- Well-founded international football knowledge preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of event and competition/match operations, sport facility operations, event planning and event project management processes, preferably in an international setting
- Effective people management skills including delegation of tasks
- Ability to collaborate in a group of people working on the same project and as required, coordinate with other Functional Areas to contribute to projects to ensure competition requirements are supported
- High energy levels and a positive focus
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills
