**Working Pattern**:9 day fortnight

**What You Will Do**

Working in a team, you will be involved in the specification, design, documentation, and execution of field testing of the machine control software and hardware. You will work closely with software and system engineers to ensure Trimble continues to provide high-quality products to the earth moving industry. We’ll provide enhanced training on our Trimble EarthWorks product portfolio.

**Operational**

You will be assigned discrete segments of functionality from a project and will be responsible for:

- Interpretation of high-level marketing requirements into detailed user-centric specifications suitable for development purposes.
- Day to day liaison with development staff.
- Provision of end user documentation and on-line help.
- Drafting of release materials such as Product Bulletins and Technical Notes
- Input and assistance on released product issues
- Input into marketing materials as required by the product management.
- Any other duties directed by Management as and when required

**Test Site / Test Logistics**
- Component and system testing of products during development.
- Machine testing on different plant types (excavators, dozers, compactors, etc)
- Assisting with continuous improvement of testing processes.
- Assisting with Auto Test creation.
- Building wiring harnesses, brackets, test framing and maintaining software and firmware updates on computers and testing hardware devices.
- Basic plant, vehicle and test site maintenance. This may include general custodial duties and performing routine maintenance activities (e.g. greasing machines, checking fuel levels, housekeeping of storage containers, etc.)
- Assisting with the procurement of test supplies, safety supplies and other items to ensure, and improve, test site and plant readiness.

**What Skills & Experience You Should Bring**
- A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in Construction, Land Surveying, Software Testing, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Curiosity and drive for continuous learning.
- Effective and proactive communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong problem-solving.
- Having a flexible approach to working in a changing environment.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Analytical approach and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to carry and use survey equipment and other test instruments as well as work on and around construction equipment.
- Full New Zealand Drivers Licence
- You should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Experience with software testing and testing processes.
- Surveying and/or recent construction or mining experience.
- Experience working with Machine Control, Survey instrumentation or Fleet Management systems.
- Experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, trucks, loaders, dozers, etc).
