Join Te Whatu Ora at a key time of change where you will meaningfully contribute to our kaupapa of creating a more equitable, accessible, cohesive and people-centred health system. This is mahi that will improve the health and well-being of everyone in Aotearoa, and we've got an opportunity for you to be part of it.
**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
Talofa lava, Mālo e lelei, Nisa bula Vinaka, Kia Orana, Taloha ni, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Talofa, Mauri.
Can you bring a Pacific worldview to the work we are doing to achieve better health outcomes for Pacific people in Aotearoa? We know many areas of the health system are not working well for Pacific people, aiga, ngutuare tangata, famili, kāinga, magafoa, kaiga, vuvale and kaaiga (families) and communities. In fact, Pacific health inequities are observed throughout the lifecourse, from pregnancy and early childhood through to older age.
In Pacific Health, we have a clear vision of a system that allows the strength of Pacific families and community voice to be at the heart of what we do, delivering equitable health outcomes for Pacific people and a future where Pacific families live longer, healthier lives.
The Pacific values of family, service, love, reciprocity and respect, along with Pacific culture and customs, influence the way we think and every action we take.
We have an opportunity for a dedicated **Disability Lead** in our Pacific Intelligence and Insights team. The role will strive to make tangata sa'ilimalo more visible in our communities. The Disability Lead will provide insights to support, maintain and improve the delivery of Pacific health and wellbeing services, with a particular focus on disabilities that affect our Pacific populations.
This role will work collaboratively with the other Leads in the Intelligence and Insights team - Starting Well, Aging Well, Living Well and Mentally Well - to support a life course approach that will enable Pacific communities to thrive. This role will also work closely with our Community Engagement and Insights Team, who will gather insights directly from Pacific communities so they can provide the most appropriate interpretations.
**Mōu | About you**
This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a real contribution to making the world better for our Tagata Sa'ilimalo. You have lived experience as a Pacific person with a disability or an extensive background working in the disability sector. You will be able to show proven experience working with data analysts and can demonstrate successful partnerships or working relationships with regional or national teams.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**

- Ability to articulate information clearly and appropriately about Pacific communities with a disability, to relevant consumers

**Ka kawea e koe | You will bring**:

**Ko te mahi e tika ana mō te ao hurihuri nei |Work that suits today's ever-changing world**
Te Whatu Ora supports flexible and hybrid working for our kaimahi. In roles that don't require an in-person element, we encourage you to ‘work from where you are.' We want our national teams to be made up of diverse people from across the motu, just like our health system.
**Nau mai, uru mai | Come and join us**
When you join us, you become part of transforming the health system. This is a once in a lifetime change that will touch the lives of everyone in Aotearoa, and future generations.
Our name, Te Whatu Ora, means ‘the weaving of wellness'. Whatu is the combining together of people, resources, organisations, thoughts and actions for the betterment and wellbeing of all. Whatu is also a direct reference to the pupil of the eye, and the vision required of the new entity and system.
We are working towards a system that better meets the complex demands of a growing population, addresses the persistent inequalities experienced by Māori and ensures greater access, experience and outcomes for those traditionally not well served by the system - Māori, Pacific and Disabled People.
