**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
We have an important role in supporting the Crown in its relationships with Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi | The Treaty of Waitangi. The government is committed to improving services and outcomes for Māori and strengthening the Crown's relationships with Māori.
We are responsible for designing community-based systems of care, agreeing health and wellbeing plans, executing those plans, and monitoring outcomes which then feed into the design process. We work in partnership with our Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and Hauora Maori Service colleagues to shape system-wide public health services across the motu.
Mana Ake is a national school based holistic wellbeing approach providing support to primary and intermediate school aged tamariki, their whānau and schools. Kia Ora Ake is the locally co-designed approach in Counties Manukau and is part of the national Mana Ake programme.
The Principal Service Development Manager: Kia Ora Ake and Primary Mental Health is a member of a life course team tasked with supporting the development and implementation of new models of service delivery and agreements to improve their life course area, radically improve Māori health outcomes and eliminate inequalities. The Principal Service Development Manager has strong relationship management skills and negotiates and manages contracts through strong provider and sector relationships.
