**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
The Verification and Compliance branch in Immigration New Zealand collaboratively identifies and mitigates risk early and to reduce harm to the integrity of the immigration system, system users, and New Zealand.

We are looking for an organised and confident person, who can support a busy Business Support function to support the strategic direction and operations of the branch and ensure quality and consistency of advice and practices. The work is varied and will include:

- Contributing to the day-to-day work of the branch relating to planning, performance and reporting, risk management, business continuity, continuous improvement, and assurance processes.
- Providing quality and timely advice to stakeholders, including to the branch leadership team, Immigration Leadership Team, Minister and Associate Minister of Immigration.
- Providing quality advice and support to teams within the branch to contribute to the continuous improvement of services, systems, and processes.
- Providing quality input for information requests, including Select Committee Questions, Parliamentary Questions and Official Information Act requests.
- Managing the preparation and reviewing of regular reports and special reporting assignments.
- Building and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders

**Skills and Experience Required**
- An understanding of the processes that underpin the operations of the public sector environment, Cabinet and parliamentary processes, and machinery of government.
- Proven experience in delivering outstanding quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to quickly assimilate new information and understand unfamiliar issues.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, including an ability to quickly identify risks and issues and possible pathways forward.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Political awareness and sensitivity to anticipate areas of potential risk and inform decision-making.
- Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with managers and staff.
- High integrity and ability in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
