**Tēnei tūranga - About the role**:
We are seeking a Senior Policy Advisor and a Policy Advisor to join our Space Policy and Sector Development team.

You will support various projects led by the team’s Principal Policy Advisors across the regulatory policy, sector development, education and outreach, and international engagement portfolios.

You will help deliver a work programme that shapes New Zealand’s approach to regulating outer space and high-altitude activities as well as influencing global rules and norms. You may also design and deliver initiatives that accelerate the growth of the space sector.

You will contribute to MBIE’s wider efforts to grow a high wage, low emissions, and resilient New Zealand economy.

**About the Team**:
MBIE’s space functions provide opportunities to accelerate the growth of the New Zealand space sector. We also work on edgy policy issues in servicing a domestic regulatory regime for space and high-altitude activities.

The Space Policy and Sector Development team is an integral part of the New Zealand Space Agency. We sit within MBIE’s Science, Innovation and International Branch.

We develop policy on space and high-altitude activities. We forge international space research partnerships and work with other MBIE teams on delivering government science and innovation investments. We also deliver initiatives to educate and engage the public on space, including the next generation of space professionals.
