At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.

**Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role**

The Chief Advisor - Leadership Advisory Programme, will coordinate and facilitate a team of regionally based senior professionals, the newly established cohort of Leadership Advisors.

The Leadership Advisors will be supporting and working with principals in schools and kura. This role will provide central support to the Leadership Advisors, allowing them to focus on strengthening leadership capabilities within schools and address school management and system issues that take school leaders' focus away from leading learning.

You will work with colleagues across Te Tāhuhu o Te Mātauranga | The Ministry of Education, other agencies, and the sector. Your work will ensure resources and tools used by the Leadership Advisors are culturally affirming and responsive and meaningfully incorporate Māori values and perspectives. You will facilitate key connections between the front line and the Ministry.

The Chief Advisor will have oversight of project deliverables and performance of the overall programme and support the growth and development of the Leadership Advisors, including developing an induction and training programme for the Leadership Advisors. You will liaise with stakeholders and leaders across the Ministry to evaluate, and report on the projects progress. This Leadership Advisor programme will be adaptive and responsive to evidence and sector need, and you will help make sure this happens.

This a fantastic opportunity to support the Ministry of Education's commitment to provide timely, responsive, and localised support to our school leaders/kura.

The salary band is $155,481 - $190,032 depending on skills and experience.

**Mōhou ake | About you**

We're looking for someone with mana and credibility with leaders across the education sector. You may have similar experience as a school leader, Chief Advisor or at a senior level in your field of expertise in a public sector organisation. Leading through influence comes naturally to you.

***You will also offer**:

- A high level of expertise and comprehensive understanding of the education sector and in particular the roles of Principals and Tumuaki within that system.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of knowledge and experience of organisational and service design, development and delivery of effective strategies, and projects across an organisation or large business group(s) that bought about transformational change.
- Ability to facilitate outcomes through personal credibility and influence and provide a compelling rationale for change that will capture hearts and minds.

The area of impact affected by the Chief Advisor and the Leadership Advisors is nation-wide as the advice provided, influence exerted, and changes enacted will impact school leadership in English and Māori medium kura and schools across the country.
