**The role**
- Lead the development and trial of innovative solutions that enable demand-side flexibility, unlock customer, community and whole of systems value, including:

- Ensuring operational visibility and coordination of flexibility
- Developing interfaces to dispatch flexibility in local areas
- Informing the development of processes and technology to implement flexibility at scale
- Monitoring and evaluate the response of flexible resources
- Managing interdependencies with Orion’s existing approaches to operate flexibility
- Shaping our distribution systems operations strategy with respect to flexibility
- Research customers preferences and capability for flexibility to maximise participation
- Identify flexibility opportunities for the network, customers and the wider systems
- Monitor and leverage insights from flexibility initiatives across NZ and globally

**About you**
- Be highly motivated as you lead and enable innovative actions - you’ll need to be curious and think outside the box
- Genuine interest in demand-side flexibility, distributed energy resources, emerging technologies, distribution system operations, and all that comes with it
- You’ll be a strategic thinker, a complex problem solver as you design and innovate processes and tools tailored to real-world challenges
- Be naturally collaborative and proactive with an impact driven approach
- Strong understanding of the NZ electricity market and demand-side flexibility; transferrable knowledge from other roles in the sector
- Ability to work cross-functionally while communicating your findings to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences
