**He angitūtanga | The opportunity**
The Claims Recovery Adviser will ensure that a high degree of service will be provided to both internal and external customers in respect to all general insurance claims.
- Liaising with Assessors, Repairers and other suppliers
- Liaising and negotiating with other Insurers
- Referral of claims to credit control/debt collection agencies
- Maintenance of repayments to MAS
- Negotiating and determining settlements with third parties
- Undertaking recovery procedures where required, including attending Disputes Tribunal hearings
- Raising claims payment to delegated level of authority
- Providing general assistance to MAS business units
- Providing general assistance on any special tasks that may be requested by the Claims Management team

- Proven teamwork and relationship building skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong client service ethic
- Good computer literacy
- Working knowledge and experience of Fire and General insurance policies
- Understanding of recovery processes and procedures
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Highly developed written and oral skills
- A thorough understanding of the Disputes Tribunal process
- Self-motivated
- An ability to work effectively under pressure
- An ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- An ability to work independently
