Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
We are looking for an Executive Assistant to provide high quality support to the Hautū | Deputy Secretary Hanganga, Matihiko | Infrastructure and Digital, as well as to the Group Manager Business Services.
The business group is one of the largest within Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education and calls for discretion and superb prioritisation skills. This office works closely with parliamentary stakeholders so experience with political interface and knowledge of the machinery of government will be advantageous. The role of Executive Assistant will also extend to communication with other senior level stakeholders and daily work will cover many areas within the Te Pou Hanganga Matihiko portfolio.
An interest or previous experience within a construction, infrastructure, engineering or property and asset management environment will be beneficial but is not a pre-requisite. The ability to be adept at navigating a variety of tasks with poise, professionalism and a service-centric mindset are important and valued in the team. This role requires a high degree of professionalism and efficiency as you will support two senior executives You will effectively manage their time, anticipate demands and make decisions. In doing so, you will identify emerging issues and risks and take steps to manage them appropriately and consultatively where required.

Mōhou ake | About you
Ideally you will have proven significant EA experience ideally within the public sector, and some knowledge/experience in a property related field would be of benefit.

- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a diverse group of contacts.
- The ability to quickly establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence both internally and with external stakeholders.
- Proven experience with managing changes to multiple diaries
- Experience with supporting a team of senior professionals in a collaborative and positive manner, providing appropriate support and guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and effectively manage risks to ensure delivery, minimising impacts.
- A willingness to respond where there is urgency, complexity and sensitivity.
