**Our Opportunity**:
Are you passionate about environmental stewardship and sustainability? Do you have extensive experience in environmental compliance, monitoring and stakeholder management? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

As Mercury's Environmental Compliance & Monitoring Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership and direction for environmental compliance and monitoring across our diverse portfolio and generation businesses. Your expertise will ensure that all existing generation assets and those under development meet regulatory requirements, align with environmental legislation, and support Mercury's community license to operate.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide strategic leadership and guidance on environmental regulatory processes, risk management, compliance and stakeholder management
- Oversee compliance and monitoring activities to support Mercury's business objectives
- Act as the primary interface between Mercury and Regional Council Senior Managers concerning environmental compliance and monitoring matters
- Offer expert advice and support on resource consent compliance, relevant environmental legislation, and regional district plan rules

**We are looking for**:

- Significant relevant technical, project and stakeholder management experience
- Experience in environmental compliance, monitoring, stakeholder and risk management
- Experience in RMA and environmental consent processes
- Familiarity with Quality Management and Environmental Management Systems
- Experience with the energy sector an advantage
- Knowledge of te reo and/or tikanga Māori an advantage
