We are in the animal health business, partnering with our clients in the areas of Research and Development (R&D) and manufacturing to produce pharmaceuticals for both farm and companion animals. Originally founded in 2006 by a New Zealand chemist with an entrepreneurial mindset, Argenta’s vision is Healthier Animals, Sustainably. Now in 2021, Argenta has operations across 6 sites with locations in New Zealand, the United States, Scotland, and Germany with almost 500 employees globally.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Review Chemist to join the Quality Control team on a 12 month fixed term basis.

**Your key responsibilities will include c**hecking and approving test results of all starting materials, bulk intermediates and finished/stability products for accuracy and compliance with test methods, specifications, SOPs and GMP.

You will also take ownership of investigations of any atypical results. This involves writing investigation plans, documenting results, finding root cause, and developing effective corrective and preventative actions.

By nature, you will be self-motivated and have an investigative mind-set. You will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to impart knowledge and encouragement to others within the business.

**Your background, experience and attributes will include**:

- Several years analytical chemistry experience within a similar GMP environment
- A high level of experience in wet chemistry and the operation of laboratory instrumentation, and capable of explaining (both verbally and in writing) analytical issues in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A good understanding of health and safety issues
- Sound Microsoft office skills
- A tertiary degree, preferably in Chemistry
- Some previous exposure to Quality Assurance will also be beneficial
