About the role
The Wellington District Intelligence Unit supports Police leaders and officers to prevent crime and harm through exceptional policing. Intelligence is used to inform deployment of resources, understand the criminal environment and crime problems, and facilitate evidence-based action and prevention.
As an Intelligence Supervisor you will lead a team of Intelligence professionals and oversee the development and delivery of Intelligence products to support tactical and operational decision-making. You will engage proactively with a range of workgroups and decision-makers to understand requirements and work closely with members of the Intelligence Unit Leadership Team to ensure close connectivity and effective service delivery. You will also manage your own projects and workstreams to support embedding our Intelligence Operating Model and align our processes and outputs with refreshed District priorities.

These positions would suit someone with supervisory experience who has a multi-disciplinary approach to leadership, with the ability to motivate and develop a high performing team. You will demonstrate a positive, open mindset and be innovative and solutions-focused in your thinking. High enthusiasm and interpersonal skills are essential to develop high trust and effective relationships with our people, our leaders, and key stakeholders.

Special Requirements for applicants
- NZ or Australian citizen or a permanent NZ resident
- Must reside within a commutable distance to Wellington
- Hold a full driver licence or be able to complete early in employment

This role is set at Team Leader/Manager level, this means your key purpose is “to lead the activities for Our Business and enable people to deliver them."
