The Strategy & Economics Lead is a key leadership role within AECOM’s Infrastructure Advisory service offering.
As the Strategy & Economics Lead, your immediate focus will be providing infrastructure advisory services to central government clients, leading and supporting the broader NZ team and supporting global AECOM business, to win and deliver infrastructure advisory commissions. Preferably you will be based in Wellington. Auckland or Christchurch may be considered.
The Strategy & Economics Lead will work in collaboration with our other Advisory Leaders, and Client Account Managers, leveraging our full suite of AECOM’s service offerings. They will also work with our NZ Business Lines Leaders (across Civil Infrastructure, Environmental and Energy, and Buildings + Places) and our national technical practice leads to grow our business case practice through technical excellence and ‘open doors’ with new government clients (central and local) to enhance our Infrastructure Advisory brand across New Zealand.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Drive development of products and services within the Infrastructure Advisory, Strategy and Economics team
- Build capability within the Infrastructure Advisory, strategy and Economics team
- Collaborate across Advisory functions and business lines to win and deliver work
- Be a key influencer with clients and support the AECOM team to identify new opportunities
- Active mentoring and development of our technical staff across New Zealand
As part of our Clients Focus this individual will be required to develop an Implementation Plan to lead and grow our infrastructure advisory services business across selected Platinum and Managed Relationship Client accounts across New Zealand.
**Qualifications**
We’re looking for an individual with energy and enthusiasm. Someone who likes to work in team environments to problem solve. We also are interested in someone who naturally cares for the team around them. You’ll have good communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility and a pro-active attitude will be key to your success in supporting the Wellington office and the wider AECOM business.
- 15 years of relevant experience with both Big 4 Management Consulting and engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience growing a business (or new service offering)
- Proven experience in winning and delivering advisory projects and programs
- Proven client engagement experience
- Demonstrated collaborative influencing skills
- Demonstrated innovation delivery
- Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Strong reputation and well connected in the local market
- Self-starter with the ability to work as a positive, energised and adaptable global team member
- Flexible with work times to align with colleagues in different time zones
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and influence senior leaders
