Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
Step into the impactful role of Advisor Hauora Māori and become a contributor to the advancement of public health outcomes for Māori communities. Your journey will involve: Supporting our commitment to equity and te Tiriti o Waitangi priorities, infusing these values into all your work. Collaborating seamlessly with Senior and Principal Advisors to contribute to pivotal projects.
You will join a team that supports the Public Health Agency to advance Māori aspirations and needs in public health. You will work closely with our colleagues in the Māori Health Directorate of Manatū Hauora and Te Aka Whai Ora. You will provide advice about achieving Pae Ora for Māori and meeting our obligations under te Tiriti across the teams and work programme of the Public Health Agency.

- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and working in partnership with Māori
- Astute relationship management skills including the ability to develop strong professional relationships.
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities, and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy and confidentiality
- Problem solving skills, patience, persistence and a willingness to learn about new health and disability areas and new analytical tools and techniques.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
- A commitment to learning and using te reo Māori
- Some understanding of kawa and tikanga
