**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

We have an important role in supporting the Crown in its relationships with Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi | The Treaty of Waitangi. The government is committed to improving services and outcomes for Māori and strengthening the Crown's relationships with Māori.

We are responsible for designing community-based systems of care, agreeing health and wellbeing plans, executing those plans, and monitoring outcomes which then feed into the design process. We work in partnership with our Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and Hauora Maori Service colleagues to shape system-wide public health services across the motu.

The Strategic Advisor, Regional Commissioning plays an important role supporting the Te Ikaroa Regional Wayfinder by providing strategic advice, insights and collateral e.g. Pae Ora focused briefings / presentations and reports. You will work with and support your Regional Wayfinder and the regional commissioning with the development and implementation of the strategic roadmap for Pae Ora implementation in Te Ikaroa.

A strong partnership with the Hauora Maori group, Manatū Hauora and IMPBs in the design and implementation of the Pae Ora vision will be fundamental to the role.

**This role is based in the Central Region, which is made up of Mid-Central, Whanganui, Capital & Coast Hutt Valley (Wellington Region), Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa. Your location can be discussed at interview stage.**

- Extensive experience in the delivery of consistent, quality (strategic) advice and delivery of capability programmes.
- Experienced in developing options and providing advice, for specialist Pae Ora or technical projects.
- Ability to lead the oversight and direction of key pieces of work.
- Experience working constructively with community and track record of building and maintaining the trust of stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a proven commitment to, and ability of, working in self-directed teams, and as part of a wider Team of Teams to achieve group/team objectives and outcomes.
- Experience at a senior level building high-trust, effective and influential relationships with partners, stakeholders, and community groups.
