Te āhuatunga a te tūranga/About the Role We have an opportunity for a Senior Advisor to join our team to implement Karanganhia te Haeata, build Te Ao Māori Capability across the Ministry and support our iwi partnerships mahi.
You will have the chance to lead, support and coordinate other teams across MSD, work closely with other agencies, and contribute to tactical and strategic thinking related to this work.
This role is highly collaborative, and you will need the confidence and proven ability to develop and manage relationships at all levels of management and both inter and intra agency.
You will demonstrate the ability to work at pace to deliver smart solutions to complex problems and provide pragmatic and effective advice.
You will need the passion, confidence, and capability to bring a kaupapa Māori and te ao Māori perspectives into this work as well as:
- Reo competency
- amazing relationship management and communication skills
- sound judgment and the ability to gain credibility quickly and influence at all levels
- experience in providing strategic advice and planning to senior management
- experience in developing and leading projects in critical areas of work
- proven ability to work collaboratively and responsively in a high-profile sector
- well-developed analytical skills with the ability to write well and provide robust advice and recommendations.
The role sits within the Māori Partnerships and Programmes team of the Māori Community Partnerships group.
We work collaboratively across the Ministry and enjoy building effective relationships with a range of Crown agency stakeholders.
About Team More about the Māori Communities and Partnerships Group and the Partnerships and Programmes team
The Māori, Communities and Partnerships group is responsible for building capability across the organisation to support the aspirations of Māori, connecting and collaborating to build effective partnerships and community approaches that achieve better outcomes for those who most need our support.
Within the Māori Communities and Partnerships group, the Māori Partnerships and Programmes team focuses on building strong and resilient teams and communities utilising a range of prevention and community development approaches which lead to sustainable and long-term outcomes for whānau, communities and whole of populations.
Our authorising documents include Te Pae Tawhiti (our Ministry Statement of Intent) and Te Pae Tata (our Māori Strategy and Action Plan) which we also have a responsibility to lead.
**Salary range**: $99,546.00 - $120,778.00
