**We currently have an immediate need for a Senior Software Engineer**

**PURPOSE**

Provide necessary software development expertise within the Network Management Systems and Automation software engineering team.
**KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS**
**INTERNAL**
- Engineering staff, including NMS and Automation, Embedded Software, and QA teams
- Tech Pubs on product user documentation
- Product Line Management
- Technical Support and Field Services
**EXTERNAL**
- End customers as required
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- NA
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Development of major or complex components/subsystems of a software product
- Client and server-side design and development
- Requirements analysis, including generation of analysis papers and software requirements specifications
- Software design including generation of software design specifications
- Software implementation. Currently JavaScript and Java are adopted as the primary programming languages on Network Management Systems projects
- Software integration and testing, including unit testing
- Software maintenance and support activities, as required
- Software configuration control activities, as required
- Collaboration with other product development staff, product management and internal users, as required in order to effectively meet the project requirements
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced software engineers, where required
**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Investigation and evaluation of new development techniques and tools, as required
- Provide presentations and demonstrations of developed software product, as required
- Technical collaboration with end users/customers, as required
- Application of our software quality practices, and software development process
- Providing necessary software development expertise on other projects as required
- Participation in project software development reviews, as required

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
- Extensive relevant software development and test experience
**TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES**

- Java Script and Java development
- Server-side and client-side development
- TCP/IP networking
