Make your mark in Risk Management

As well as helping customers to manage risks, AIG faces a wide array of our own risks every day. The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team partners across the AIG organization to inform strategic decision-making and to facilitate rational risk-taking that drives profitable growth. ERM ensures we have the right tools, processes and systems in place to identify, measure and manage our risks. As an ERM colleague, you can enhance your acumen by helping to shape and support our approach to risk.

We’re in the business of helping our customers manage risk. As a global insurance organisation of more than 20,000 team members, we face a wide array of our own risks every day. These can come from financial markets, operational issues, and regulatory changes (to name a few), all of which can affect our reputation, workforce, profitability and more.

How you will create an impact

As a member of the ERM Group, you will shape and support how AIG manages its risks. You’ll gain a unique perspective across a diverse range of business activities whilst being responsive to the needs and priorities of the organisation. Our aim is to foster a healthy and professional risk culture where everyone at AIG feels encouraged to speak up when they spot something that fosters risk so it can be appropriately addressed.

**Key accountabilities will include but not limited to**:
Overseeing the collection and interpretation of key risk metrics.
Identifying root causes and documenting risk incident information.
Supporting with remediation efforts with Line 1 and monitoring of actions until close.
Escalating risks, trends, and incidents in line with the AIG Risk Management Framework.
Preparing risk reports and governance material for the Chief Risk Officer.
Using our data to design and coordinate risk dashboards and metrics - including concisely summarizing complex data for a wide-range of audiences; and
Providing significant support to the wider team's risk management activities.

What you’ll need to succeed

This role offers the opportunity to illustrate your analytical skills for data examination, root cause analysis, and proactive identification and assessment of risks from all sources. You will also have the opportunity to work with the broader ERM Group across APAC and globally; as well as work closely with other stakeholders including the Internal Audit & Compliance teams. This is a full-time and permanent position based in Auckland. You must have the legal right to work In New Zealand.

**What we are looking for**:
A strong interest or passion for risk management, assurance and/or general insurance.
Advanced proficiency in data analytics and reporting.

**To be successful in this role you must**:
Have the ability to work in a fast-paced setting and manage multiple competing priorities.
Have the ability to work with ambiguity and complexity - including problem-solving skills.
Have the ability to build strong working relationships - both internally and externally.
Be comfortable working in a multi-cultural and global matrix setting - this may include some work that falls outside of New Zealand business hours from time-to-time.

Ready for faster career growth? We would love to hear from you.
