**About the roles**:
An exciting opportunity exists to work within the National Drug Intelligence Bureau (NDIB). The NDIB is a multi-agency workgroup, hosted by the Police National Intelligence Centre (NIC), at Police National Headquarters. We comprise representatives from the NZ Customs Service, Ministry of Health and NZ Police. Our purpose is to provide strategic intelligence and advice on illicit drugs, potentially illicit drugs, and precursors, to support the reduction in drug related harm.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to enhance the capability of our team. This role is open to all analyst levels (Analyst, Senior Analyst and Lead Analyst) and would suit an experienced Intelligence professional wanting to work in a strategic and collaborative environment, who can support the development of the Intelligence capability in and outside the team.

As a Senior Intelligence Analyst, you will demonstrate professional curiosity and adaptive approaches to using a range of analytic tools and methodologies to provide insight and foresight on a range of complex problems and issues. You will use your advanced critical thinking and team-focused approach to coach others on best practice Intelligence tradecraft, to support team development and foster a positive and productive team culture.

As a Lead Intelligence Analyst, you will be an expert in the use of a range of analytic tools and methodology to provide insight and foresight on complex problems and issues. You will communicate your analysis through reporting and drawing on your effective relationships with Intelligence clients. You will use your advanced critical thinking and team-focused approach to coach others on best practice Intelligence tradecraft, to support team development and foster a positive and productive team culture.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Proactively identify and analyse emerging or escalating trends in drug related harm and propose potential solutions.
- Collaborate on projects and group analysis.
- Contribute to core intelligence reporting and deliverables of the unit.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Take ownership of work through to the delivery of expected outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from a range of backgrounds.
- A committed and positive attitude towards teamwork and professional development.

**Key Accountabilities (Senior Intelligence Analyst)**:

- Assist in leading the development of people, products, and processes.
- Champion diverse worldviews, different perspectives, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, identifying opportunities to reflect these in Intelligence products.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop a high standard of written reports and presentations and provide clear and concise verbal briefings to a range of audiences.
- Work with limited supervision on complex analytical problems.
- Provide technical guidance in Intelligence analysis tools and coach junior members of the team to develop their Intelligence tradecraft.

**Key Accountabilities (Lead Intelligence Analyst)**:

- Provide regular peer review and coaching.
- Translate organisational vision and strategic intent into Intelligence plans, activities, and outputs.
- Proactively identify training and development requirements and opportunities that benefit the wider team.

**Special Requirements**:

- Successful applicant must reside in Wellington.
- Hold the NZ Diploma in Intelligence Analysis (NZDIA) or equivalent or able to complete NZDIA modules early in employment.
