**K**ō**rero m**ō** te t**ū**ranga - About the role**

This position will contribute to the running of the National Vegetation Survey Databank (NVS), a nationally significant collection of plot-based vegetation survey data. You will work in a team, alongside the NVS Databank Manager, to support a diverse community of data providers and data users and contribute to the ongoing maintenance and development of the Databank.

The NVS databank is a physical archive and electronic database of over 104,000 vegetation survey plots, including over 24,000 permanent plots. Electronic data are stored in a complex relational database with a graphic user interface (GUI).

This position is permanent, part time (0.6 FTE), reporting to a Capability Leader in the Ecosystems & Conservation Team, and is based at our Lincoln site.

The starting remuneration would be between $75K-$90K (adjusted to $45K-$54K for 0.6 FTE) per annum depending on relevant experience.

**Ō pūmanawa - About you**

You will have a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience, and you will have a strong track record of performing technical tasks independently. You will have some experience in plot-based vegetation monitoring techniques and basic botanical knowledge. You will require some experience with coding, using relational databases, and managing databases; using SQL to query databases is desirable. You will have rigorous attention to detail and be able to work across multiple projects. You will interact with and report to a range of individuals, work effectively both independently and in a team, and you will enjoy interacting with the diverse community of people who use NVS.
