The previously advertised role of Community Safety Manager has been updated with the revised title of Regulatory Services Manager to accurately reflect the intent and responsibilities for this role in supporting Council's commitment to managing regulatory compliance across animal control, environmental health, and monitoring and compliance activities. The new designation makes clear the scope of responsibilities and our dedication to fostering a well-regulated and secure environment.
**Who are we looking for**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Services Manager to join our Customer Support Group. The Customer Support group is focused on delivering an effortless customer experience to our communities. As our environment changes, we will also change to deliver these services differently in the future.
The Regulatory Services unit is responsible for keeping our communities safe, healthy and thriving in terms of Animal Control, Environmental Health and Monitoring and Compliance across the district. This role is about leading a group of highly skilled professionals who keep our communities safe through a variety of legislation. We are looking for someone who is up for a variety of challenges which include professional interactions with our broad variety of customers and ratepayers, strong leadership, change management with the team, and keeping the team safe.
You will be committed to ensuring that the Regulatory Services unit provides cost effective, high quality, professional customer service for customers and ratepayers through exceptional operational management and leadership.
Our team is made up of customer committed and dedicated people. We are looking for someone to complement this already robust team.
**Ideally, you will have**:
- Tertiary Qualification in a related area.
- A minimum of 5 years management experience preferably in a regulatory compliance function.
- Strong regulatory knowledge and understanding of Animal Control, Environmental Health, and relevant legislation including Resource Management Act 1991.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, cost-effective service across a diverse range of customers and ratepayers.
- Ability to adapt to evolving needs and manage change effectively within the team.
