Principal Mechanical Designer

As Principal Mechanical Designer you will thrive when providing leadership and mentoring to technical staff on complex, large scale, multidisciplinary projects that deliver high standard outcomes for AECOM clients.
Day to day you will be managing and producing 2D and 3D CAD models, documentation and other technical work tasks to agreed schedule including BIM, ensuring the quality of drawing and documentation packages meet client expectations and comply with AECOM or client standards. You'll have the opportunity to develop BIM systems (in close coordination with other sectors within AECOM) to strengthen our BIM offering internally
Responsible for building relationships with internal clients to ease delivery on projects, you will frequently work closely with project managers and discipline leads to better understand deadlines and deliverable requirements
Minimum Requirements
+ >15 years mechanical modelling and design experience
+ Seasoned experience in 3D modelling using Plant 3D and 2D drawings
+ Sound knowledge of BIM processes
+ Digital and technically competent
+ Exposure and experience working across multi-disciplinary sectors and projects
+ Experienced and confident in project management process and engagement with project colleagues and external stakeholders
+ You will be a strong communicator and proven leader, able to step up as required
Preferred Qualifications
+ Appropriate tertiary qualification
+ CAD modelling and design, and BIM process
