The role

Our Production Engineering teams in New Zealand act as the interface between Product Development (PD) and Manufacturing to ensure that the products we design are optimally designed for both manufacturing, assembly and service, and put the customer at the centre of everything we do. Working closely with Production Engineering Leadership at our manufacturing sites in Thailand, and Mexico these roles are accountable for leading the early design of manufacturing and providing core knowledge to support great outcomes.

We now have two leadership positions in Dunedin and Auckland to lead the expert Production Engineering teams on these sites.

The person

You should be an experienced engineering/manufacturing leader who demonstrates ability in, and passion for, the relentless improvement of how New Product Introduction and change is delivered, ensuring the progress to Production Engineering owned deliverables is visible to all stakeholders throughout the process. You have a passion for coaching others, have success in creating a culture of high performance, and leading change through influence and role modelling. You have a track record in execution and delivery, growing and leveraging an expert workforce for both the current state and the future. Ideally you have experience in Lean manufacturing and or DFX and a passion for customer-focused outcomes.

Some of the key aspects of this role include:

- Working as part of the Production Engineering leadership team to continue to improve our tools, processes and methods.
- Working with Cross-Functional teams and Chief Engineers to plan and deliver manufacturing and assembly solutions within our manufacturing sites and those of our suppliers offshore.
- Leading the development and capture of reusable process knowledge.
- Understanding the strengths and gaps in team capability, developing individuals with regular, focused coaching.
