What’s this role about?

The Product Performance Team for Cooking is responsible for ensuring exceptional cooking outcomes across all our cooking appliances. This small but specialist team has the paramount focus on the needs of the end user and deeply understand the science behind exceptional food preparation and cooking methods now and for the future. Additionally, the team develops and runs test procedures and processes to evaluate the performance of our cooking appliances. This work is fundamental in assisting our Product Development and Design & Brand teams in the development and execution of our premium, class-leading products as we continue to win on the global stage.

As our new Functional Leader of this critical team your key responsibilities are to provide vision and leadership of the strategic goals, translating these goals into tangible direction and action with the customer, food science and product performance at the centre of everything you do. You are someone who consistently drives for a deeper knowledge of existing and new solutions, and courageously challenges to ensure exceptional outcomes for our global customers. The ability to continue to coach and grow your team’s technical capabilities and support individual personal development is also critical.

Key aspects of this role include:

- Working with cross-functional teams and Chief Engineers to plan and deliver premium product
- Leading the development and capture of reusable knowledge to continuously improve our Product Performance knowledge and capabilities
- Coaching and mentoring your team
- Working as part of the Product Development leadership team to improve our tools, processes and methods.

There’s lots to look forward to in this role, as we continue to develop wall oven, microwave, steam and outdoor cooking technologies. Ongoing research and development of future technologies to deliver high user value and collaboration with our colleagues globally in the Haier Group are also key opportunities in this role.

Ideally you have some experience in a leadership role and inherently understand both strengths and opportunities in team members' abilities, and enjoy developing individuals with regular, focused coaching. Your leadership style is thoughtful and open; you lead by influence, you listen and understand challenges and then you support others to be the best they can be.

Relevant product development and testing experience will be important and you may have a Degree in Science, Consumer and Applied Science, Food Science or Engineering. At the very least, you’re a passionate foodie
