**_ About our team/Mō te tīma_**

Student Health Services provide health care services for students at the University of Otago. We are a team of over 50 full and part-time staff who between us undertake over 50,000 medical, nursing, mental health and well-being, and psychiatry consultations per year.

**_ The role/Te mahi_**

As a Well-being Counsellor reporting to the Clinical Group Leader of the Mental Health and Well-being Team, you will work both in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals and the wider primary care.

A stepped care approach is required as well as a sound working knowledge of available referral partners and community resources.

Ideally you will be an experienced and autonomous clinician who communicates clearly and works well in various team environments. A proven ability to function well under pressure of high clinical demand is essential.

- A qualification in the Mental Health field.
- Strong interest and experience in helping young adults.
- Experience with assessment, short-term intervention and liaison work (essential).
- Experience in Alcohol and Drug and group work (advantageous).

This is a permanent, part-time (0.7FTE / 26.25 hours) position, located in Dunedin.
