**About the role**

Are you passionate about driving product success and innovation? Join us as a Product Owner, where you'll be at the forefront of translating vision into reality, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional products.

As a Product Owner, you'll serve as the linchpin between Product Managers, development teams, and stakeholders. Your mission? Transforming strategies into actionable tasks, managing product backlogs, organizing sprints, and championing a customer-centric approach to product development.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Translate Product Managers’ strategies into actionable tasks, aligning with market insights and business objectives to shape the product's direction.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, customers, and the development team to gather requirements, refine and prioritise backlog items, and ensure that the most valuable items are at the top.
- Maintain and prioritise the product backlog, which is a list of all desired features, enhancements, and bugs for the product.
- Participate in sprint planning to determine the team’s objectives for the upcoming sprint.
- Collaborate with the development team during sprint planning to determine which backlog items will be worked on during the next sprint.
- Throughout the sprint, clarify requirements, provide feedback and answer questions, and ensure that the team has a shared understanding of what needs to be built and that the product is meeting the intended goals.
- Liaise between the development team and stakeholders, including customers, users, management, and other departments to gather feedback, communicate progress and updates, and manage expectations.

**About you**

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
- Product owner certifications (e.g Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner Certification, Professional Scrum Product Owner, Certified Agile Product Manager)
- Full NZ Drivers Licence

Experience
- 4+ years’ experience in product ownership or related roles
- Proven experience with product management principles and practices including product planning, roadmap development, prioritisation, and agile methodologies
- 2+ years’ experience in project management
- Proven experience with Agile processes
- Proven experience managing all stages of the product lifecycle
- Understands and uses basic Te Reo Māori phrases, mihi and greetings
- Prepared to increase knowledge, understanding and everyday use of te reo and āhuatanga Māori and support other kaimahi in the same endeavour

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
