Hamilton, New Zealand Waikato Regional Council Full time

We want more good people to come and do great things with us.

We love where we live. That’s why we work so hard to look after our region and the people who live and work in the Waikato region.

Customers sit at the heart of everything we do, and all staff have an important role to play in the delivery of exceptional customer service.

Our work is as diverse as the region we care for; from the tip of the Coromandel Peninsula to the slopes of Ruapehu. We’ve got ambitious goals and there are some tricky issues, but that’s what makes it so interesting.

**We’re looking for 2 students who can**:

- Collect weekly water samples from various beaches in the Waikato region.
- Take field measurements of various water quality parameters with hand held instruments and maintaining the instruments.
- Sort estuarine benthic macrofauna samples in the preparation room as per Regional Estuary Monitoring Programme standard operating protocols.
- Assist environmental monitoring and science staff with other projects as they arise and associated field or office work.
- Drive long distances (~600 km per week).
- Maintain a high level of commitment to Health and Safety.
- Be a team player, with great communication.
- Have a high level of self motivation and attention to detail.

Waikato Regional Council offer a range of staff benefits including flexible working options, active reward program, health & wellbeing benefits, and a great social club.

We are committed to working more creatively to ‘get work done’ in a way that is of mutual benefit to you, the organisation and our communities.
