Graduate Consents Officer

**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
As Graduate Consent Officer, you will get a wide range of exposure to:
- Processing resource consents for water takes, wastewater discharges, coastal activities, air discharges and land development.
- Prepare consent evaluation reports.
- Provide information and advice on the consenting process.
- Prioritise and manage your time effectively to achieve practical timely outcomes across multiple projects within statutory timeframes.
- Present at consent hearings.
**Mō te tangata | About you**
- The ability to demonstrate and evaluate RMA policy and technical information on environmental effects.
- A strong understanding of natural resource management issues and processes, whether that be in water allocation, wastewater management, land development, farming practices or others
- Be a confident communicator with a strong customer focus.
- A high level of organisational skills including time management and prioritisation.
- An understanding of Te Ao Māori, which will be beneficial to this role.
**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
- 0 - 2 years’ applied experience in resource consent processing.
- A tertiary qualification in a Science-related discipline or Resource Management.
- Applied experience in resource consent processing will be beneficial.

- You will have the support of a professional team of varying skillsets and expertise across the Regional Consents Section, while having the responsibility and independence to work on your own projects.
