**About this role - Mō tēnei tūranga mahi**
As Chief Customs Officer in the Customs Investigations Unit (CIU) you'll lead Drug investigation teams across operations and at a strategic level within Auckland Customs investigative operations. You will be responsible for coaching and leading a group of team leaders and technical experts.
The Customs investigations teams are tasked with investigating serious border related criminal offending relating to the importation and exportation of controlled drugs.
The salary for this role is $103,053 - $130,010 plus an allowance of $16,109 for working unpredictable hours.
**About you - Ko wai koe**

Building and enhancing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders is important, including other law enforcement and border management partners, with a view to improving border response and service quality.
As part of the recruitment process, you will need to obtain and maintain a Top Secret level national security clearance.
