About you | Mōhou ake
- We're looking for a Chief Information Officer with the depth of skills and experience to lead the improvement and development of technology capability to support the Electoral Commission (EC) and electoral events to realise our strategic and operational activities. You will have previous significant experience in leadership, service delivery and business improvement.
What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana
- Delivering on our strategic objectives through managing all aspects of EC's multi-disciplinary technology function.
- Developing and leading the Digital Strategy in alignment with the overall objectives of EC.
- With a strong internal customer focus, enable whole-of-organisation goals to be achieved, involving the combination of strategic planning and delivery, technology management, leadership, and collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Ensuring the Commission complies with all relevant government and industry cyber-security and privacy standards.
- A key member of the EC Senior Leadership Group reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Enterprise Services.
- Providing strategic advice and solutions to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Board.
What you'll need to succeed | Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a technology function, ideally within the public sector.
- Experience managing a large IT work programme and budget.
- Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
- Proven experience in stakeholder management in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build credibility with senior leaders to engage, influence and challenge where necessary.
- Demonstrated experience working in Cloud/outsourced technology environments.
- Experience providing strategic technology advice to Chief Executives, Boards and senior leadership teams.
- Extensive experience in organisational technology strategic planning and execution in line with broader organisational objectives.
