Te tūnga | The role
This is a newly created role here at ESR within the Health Intelligence and Surveillance Group supporting the team responsible for ongoing development and end user support of ESR's Population Health Surveillance Systems (surveillance systems). The surveillance systems are critical for integration, collection, analysis and appropriate distribution of population health and environmental information. This role will be focused on leading and supporting the team to consistently deliver the work programme and exceed our customers' expectations.
You will be working closely with internal business users and both internal and external system stakeholders to support, prioritise and define the initiatives on the product backlog into sprints. You will provide leadership to, and management of, day-to-day priorities for the delivery team and will facilitate discussions, find resolutions to blockages and continuously seek improvements.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- At least five years' experience in an operational leadership role with a natural ability to forward plan, meet deadlines and manage conflicting deadlines & requirements
- Demonstrated business partnering and influencing ability with strong customer service orientation with a commitment to and provision of quality services
- Strong experience in software development using agile methodology, experience of API integration and Azure DevOps
- Experience in incident management (Health Information Technology), health messaging standards (HL7), FHIR is desirable
