Department/Division Introduction

Ara is the leading South Island provider of IT education. The IT Portfolio (Computing) unit is the lead IT Academy for Cisco in New Zealand, and it is also an IT Academy for AWS, Microsoft, and VMware. It offers a range of programmes from entry level to level 7 degrees for those working in or seeking careers in IT. These include the New Zealand Diploma in IT Technical Support, the Bachelor of ICT and the Graduate Diploma in ICT. Programmes are offered at the city campus.

**Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About the role**

This role will involve teaching as part of the IT infrastructure and networking team (and if needed in other disciplines) and the courses that form part of the NZ Diploma in IT Technical Support and the Bachelor of ICT at the Madras St campus.

The successful applicant will work with a staff of experienced IT practitioners and educators. The successful applicant is expected to have various technical skills and knowledge of key technologies.

**Ng**ā pūkenga me ngā wheako - **Skills/Experience**
- Experience in IT, preferably in IT infrastructure and/or networking.
- A broad range of technical skills, such as configuring servers, switches, and routers and supporting a network environment.
- A qualification (degree - tertiary) and/or equivalent industry certification in IT.
- A commitment to facilitating one's own and others' learning.
- The ability to develop and implement flexible teaching and learning methods and support students to achieve learning outcomes.
- Time management skills, including effectively and efficiently administering, organising and coordinating.
- Engagement with assessment and feedback processes.
- Effective communication with a diverse range of others at all levels within and outside the organisation
- Use a range of teaching and learning technologies.
