Are you passionate about sustainable stormwater management and ready to make a significant impact on Auckland’s environment? Join our Healthy Waters and Flood Resilience (HW & FR) department as the **Manager Design Partnerships**, where you’ll lead, mentor, and inspire a dynamic team of designers and project managers.
In this role, you will oversee the delivery of innovative, large-scale blue/green stormwater projects. You’ll champion collaboration and innovation, partnering with mana whenua and working closely with Auckland Council employees, central government, consultants, industry and a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve best-practice sustainable stormwater outcomes.
**Day-to-day, you can expect to**:
- Lead and mentor a team of designers and project managers, fostering professional growth.
- Oversee the delivery of large-scale, partnership-based stormwater projects.
- Provide leadership to contracted consultants and contractors, ensuring cost-effective outcomes.
- Manage relationships and funding agreements between Auckland Council and the Crown for flood resilience projects.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with mana whenua, local boards, and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration.
- Offer expert advice on stormwater design, with a focus on blue/green flood mitigation projects.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
You are an experienced leader with a proven track record of guiding high-performing teams in local government or infrastructure settings. Your expertise in stormwater programme management, engineering and design is complemented by strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to drive engagement and deliver outstanding results.
With a focus on delivery, you excel in achieving key outcomes and ensuring projects are completed successfully.
**Key Qualifications and Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, construction management, engineering, or environmental engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Chartered status through a relevant professional body.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- At least 20 years of experience in the water infrastructure sector or equivalent.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale and complex projects.
