**The role**
As a Drone Pilot Asset Inspector assist with holding inspections of transmission assets using commercial drones, you’ll be travelling to sites across Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions for the inspections work and daily tasks include meticulously planning flights, skilfully operating the drone, and processing videos and photos with utmost precision. You’ll be reporting to Delivery Manager - Maintenance.

- You will need to demonstrate the following:
- Identify potential risks to Northpower drone operation and develop strategies to mitigation methods
- Adhering to aviation regulations and interpreting various documents to ensure that Northpower's drone operations

are conducted safely and efficiently- Develop precise GPS waypoints for our missions
- Accurately geo tag and map photos and data according to company and customer requirements
- Make and interpret radio calls/telephony procedures and operations
- Understand the conduct required to operate an RPAS in accordance with aviation guidelines
- Provide Visual Navigation Charts (VNC’s) and Notice to Airmen (NOTAM)

**Who we’re looking for**
Previous commercial knowledge and experience in capturing videos using both a UAV/drone and a camera including Gimbals would be the winning attribute for this role. To be successful in this challenging yet exciting role, you’ll also have:

- Experience in defining, planning, organising and executing UAV flight operations in the following areas such as Aerial Mapping, Accurate High Resolution RGB, Aerial Inspection - High-Definition Inspection Data Capture, Aerial Photography and High End Video and Photographic Service- Knowledge and experience using Adobe Creative Suite, CaptureOne, Mission Planner, GIS Software and Geo Tagging
- CAA Part 101 (Part 102 certification preferable)
- Prior experience and knowledge of flying DJI Phantom 4 Pro, DJI M300 RTK, DJI M210 or SkyJib
- You don't necessarily need to be an expert in the Electrical industry to excel in this position. Being a sharp, detail-oriented person with excellent communication abilities and a knack for analytical thinking and creative problem-solving can go a long way in helping you succeed. With those qualities, you'll be well equipped to handle whatever challenges come your way and achieve your goals._
