Our Cyber Security team are the guardians of our Data and Digital environment against the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats We're here to ensure the safety of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora. Our innovative cyber security operating model is designed to tailor the resources needed for boosting our cyber security readiness. We take care of leadership, management, delivery, and support across the board.

**Mōu | About you**

As a key member of the Security Operations Team, you will have shared accountability for Sector Detect, Respond and Recover Workstream across the primary care field within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora. This work allows us to detect threats, to respond quickly and efficiently and get back to business as usual, reducing impacts and enabling a more resilient Health sector.

As a Security Analyst you will maintain the security of new and existing information technology services in Health New Zealand's Cyber Security Uplift programme and provide technical support to the National Chief Information Security Officers (CISO).

You will use your experience and knowledge of Information Security and/or Cyber Security, including the principles, concepts and current trends to work on programmes of work and respond flexibly in response to cyber incidents.

**Ka kawea e koe | You will bring**:

- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- Experience managing tickets from an IT support perspective.
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
- Strong knowledge of cyber security practices in a hybrid environment of on-premise, SaaS, and cloud services, preferably in an operation and/or incident management role.
- Experience in either technical and/or operational support areas covering a broad range of security technologies, such as SIEM, firewalls, networking, system administration and scripting.
- Familiarity with tools commonly used in the IT security arena, such as the Microsoft Defender suite, Nessus, NMAP, Kali Linux or a SIEM solution.
- The ability to obtain, and maintain, an appropriate New Zealand Government security clearance.
- Demonstrated experience of working within a Te Ao Māori environment and understanding Tikanga Māori, and/or substantial experience working within a bicultural context with diverse communities and/or organisations.

Desired:

- Experience managing incidents with Microsoft Sentinel.
- Knowledge of the Protective Security Requirements (PSR), New Zealand Information Security Manual (NZISM), ISO 27001/27002, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Australian Signals Directorate Information Security Registered Assessors Program (ASD IRAP), OWASP or other similar frameworks.
