As the Principal Adviser Strategic Finance, you will be responsible for the development of the Departments short to medium term financial strategy.
Within this position you will provide the first contact with the Treasury and other Justice Sector Government Agencies in Budget related matters. It is essential that you can build strong relationships and have the ability to clearly articulate Ara Poutama's requirements and the benefits and outcomes of funding those requirements.
This is a great opportunity where you will be able to help shape and influence the financial strategy of the largest Government Department, working alongside the Chief Executive and key stakeholders.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

**To be successful within this role you will have**:

- Ability to develop trusted relationships with Senior Executives and represent the Department on cross sector financial issues.
- Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to influence others to gain commitment and support for views, actions and recommendations.
- Understanding of Machinery of Government and public sector processes.
- Demonstrated experience at senior level in a role requiring strategic financial management.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to express thoughts and ideas with clarity, both orally and in writing, using language appropriate to the audience.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $135,225 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $114,942 - $162,270 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
