It’s not often these roles come about, so you best jump on this chance - we have a great opportunity for an experienced and technical people leader to join our Animal Management department.
**About the role**
Aside from working for one of New Zealand’s most exciting global technology companies, as the Software Team Leader you will lead and support your team who work in agile squads and promote an environment in which they can do their best work. Our people leaders make sure that teams have all the information they need, the right feedback loops in place so they can deliver valuable customer outcomes. Our people leaders also support and encourage their teams to learn, improve and grow, as well as looking after the team’s wellbeing.
In this role the People leader will:
- Energise and lead a team of software developers and testers who build high-quality software solutions
- be responsible for managing software development process, coordinating your team and ensuring the successful delivery of software projects
- Be a leader who grows leaders; before all else you should aim to think wide & deep about how we grow ourselves, our people & organisation
- Create an engaging team environment, where everyone has a strong sense of purpose and understands how they are making a positive difference for our customers
- Bring a continuous improvement approach to all that you do, being proactive and taking accountability to reflect on practices and delivery.

Some of the skills and experience we are keen to see include:
- Previous experience in a Software Development Team Lead role
- Confident in improving and implementing processes, setting up professional development plans and building high performing teams.
- Experience working with embedded software development
- Experience leading teams in Agile environments
- High level of interpersonal skills, leadership ability and process improvement mindset.
- High EQ - someone who can facilitate a passionate discussion to ensure the best ideas are heard.
