Based in our branch at Port Nelson we are looking for an experienced administrator, who is keen to learn new skills, while providing support with various administrative functions. Our business is involved with the logistics and shipping industries, so you will need to be comfortable working in a Port environment that is constantly changing.

This is a diverse role in a fast-paced environment with operations generally covering 24/7. The role will manage administrative functions and support the management team, with duties ranging from data entry, processing purchase orders and invoicing using our Finance system (Techone) to assisting with payroll, maintaining training and health & safety databases, as well as ordering supplies including PPE gear.

In addition to the administration function, you will also be trained in vessel planning duties. These duties involve allocating log volume via C3’s inventory management system as well as preparing vessel load lists for drivers and yardmen.

To be successful in this role you will need to be well organised, with an ability to prioritise and deal with multiple tasks, while maintaining high levels of accuracy and a sense of humour. You will enjoy responsibility and be proactive and use your experience to ensure the smooth running of the Nelson office.

**Essential requirements for the position are**:

- Proven administration experience in a busy environment
- A team player who has a positive & proactive attitude
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Well organised and methodical
- Strong multi-tasking abilities and can keep calm under pressure
- High calibre computer skills and ability to quickly learn new computer programmes
- Preferably some experience with invoicing, finance and payroll functions
- Full class 1 Drivers licence
